Voter registration will stop
for 90 days if SK polls ok’d

BY CARAL GOMEZ

Commission on Elections Commissioner Grace Padaca Saturday said the registration of voters for the 2016 polls will be suspended for 90 days if the Sanguniang Kabataan elections pushes through.

There is a big possibility that Congress may decide to set the SK elections any time from October this year to not later than February 2015, she said.

If an election date is set, registration of voters will be suspended for 90 days, to allow the Comelec to prepare for the SK polls, she said.

Padaca said the public should not think that they have until October 2015 to register to vote, they should register now and not wait for the last minute, especially with the possibility of the 90-day suspension.moremoremore
