No. 3 AACI Trading and No. 4 Jast Enterprises ousted their opponents with first half offensive spurt in the quarterfinals knockout stage of the Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade Inc. 1st Conference Inter-Company Basketball Tournament played Monday night at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym in Bacolod City.

AACi Trading routed Basecom, 104-84, in the nightcap before Jast Enterprises survived a fourth quarter meltdown to beat JSY Countertrade, 80-70.

Jast was way ahead in the first half at 46-21 and continued to dominate JSY with a commanding 70-38 advantage going to the fourth quarter with Yan Yan Dy leading the rampage.

JSY woke up from its slumber and launched a last ditch rally behind Jappy Cuaycong with support from Daniel Ong and Mark Velez but the gallant stand fell short as they can only slice 22 points from the lead of Jast.

Dy led Jast with 24 points, Franklyn Madrid added 13, Beejay Paredes scored 10, Jolly Castillo hit 8, Joel Masadia and Edward Uy contributed 6 points each.

JSY Countertrade was paced by Jappy Cuaycong with 17 points, Bol Manaloto made 14, Chris Javelosa and Ong with 8 points apiece.

Meanwhile, AACI Trading had a blazing start behind Robbie Jalando-on’s 15 points and Keith Banzon 10 markers for a 31-20 opening quarter lead even as Emil Guanzon scored 9 points for Basecom.

Ritchie Militante scored 14 of the 18 points of Basecom but AACI Trading had too much offense to show as Brian Coo, Luigi Coo, Danny Boy Uy combined their efforts for a commanding 67-38 lead at the half.

Basecom outscored AACI in the last two quarters but it hardly mattered as AACI Trading pulled away with a 20-point victory.

Jalando-on led AACI Trading with 22 points, Brian Coo delivered 19, Banzon picked up 13, Jeremy Coo and Luigi Coo shot 12 points each and Uy shot 10 points.

Militante spearheaded Basecom with 21 pointsbackstopped by Guanzon with 11, Japet Cua shot 13, Popoy Chua had 10, and Kerwin Guillon with 9 points.

Semifinals schedule today will start at 7 p.m. with JSY Transport clashing against AACI Trading while Jast Enterprises will try to overcome the twice-to-beat advantage of top seed AACI Transport.*NAB
