The governors of Negros Occidental and Oriental yesterday said they will support the presidential bid of Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas in 2016.

Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. reiterated his endorsement of Roxas for president in 2016.

“Let us support him because he is from Negros, why should we look for another candidate whom we do not know?” the governor asked.

Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo yesterday said “I like him, I will support him in 2016, even if we do not belong to the same party.”

Roxas, when asked if he is running for president in 2016, would only say he will not allow politics and other things to distract him from the work at hand now.*CPG
