56 computers not delivered,
trial indispensable: Bayatan
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO
What happened to the 56 other computer units involved in the computer scam for which Bacolod Mayor Monico Puentevella is being charged at the Sandiganbayan?
Private complainant Joselito Bayatan yesterday said that while probable cause would have already been established by the Ombudsman/Special Prosecutor, a trial on the merits of the main case involving the alleged overpriced Information Technology package, becomes indispensable for the interest of justice to the government and, probably, to the accused if they can free themselves from the guilt.
Bayatan yesterday filed a rejoinder to Bacolod Mayor Monico Puentevella’s reply dated February 7, before the Ombudsman informing that office that, aside from the purchase of the overpriced computers at P400,000 each without public bidding, 56 units more of Information Technology packages, had not been approved by the accused to be delivered to the schools supposed to receive them.. |
