City retrieving
68 titles from PNB
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO
The Bacolod City government is in the process of retrieving the 68 land titles from the Philippine National Bank in the amount of P12.5 million, which were purchased 18 years ago by the previous administration, Bacolod Mayor Monico Puentevella said yesterday.
Puentevella said that instead of borrowing money or soliciting loans from different banks, which was done in the previous years, they are now trying to consolidate, review and acquire back city properties.
He appealed to PNB to release the titles of the 68 properties (in Barangays Mandalagan, Alijis and Banago) purchased by the city in 1996 and paid for by the previous administration in the amount of PP12,492,000.
