‘Sino-Italy suspends
dredging operation'

The Sino-Italy Construction Philippines Inc. is reportedly suspending its dredging project in Poblacion 4, Tambacan, Tanjay City, that has been subjected to barricades by residents who claim that it is a front for black sand mining.
In a statement dated March 7, addressed to the city mayor of Tanjay, the provincial governor of Negros Oriental, and the general public, the Moya Law Office, counsel for Sino Italy based in Bacolod City, said that “due to external forces and pressure against the dredging project in Tanjay, and to avoid further losses to the company, it is compelled to suspend the project”. 
| Stores urged to recall The Food and Drug Administration, in cooperation with the Department of Trade and Industry in Negros Oriental, yesterday started inspecting grocery shops and other stores in the province for the recall of a product found to contain a high level of a toxic compound. This was after FDA issued Advisory No. 2014-017 Monday, for the recall of Nagaraya Cracker Nut Original Butter Flavor (160 grams), identified under Lot No. 14019 with expiry date 01242015F, that was found to contain an unacceptable level of Aflatoxin. Aflatoxin is a toxic compound described as carcinogenic.. |
