CFC invites teams
to summer festival

Soccer teams in Negros Occidental and other parts of the country are invited to participate in the First Ceres Cup, a 7-a-side competition to be held in Bacolod and Talisay cities on May 17-18.

Warren Concepcion, competitions director, said the competition includes 14 categories -- Under-8, Under-9 and Under-10, which are all open to boys, girls or mixed teams, Under-11, Under-12 and Under-13—all in the boy's category; Under-14 Girls, Under-15 Boys, Under-18 Boys and Under-18 Girls, Under-20 Boys as well as Men's Open, Ladies' Open and 38-Above group.

About 400 teams are expected to participate in the competition which was preceded early in February by the one-day First Ceres 7-a-Side Friendship Festival, which attracted 209 teams.

Concepcion said registration fees are P1,000 for the 38-Above and Men's Open groups while entries in the rest of the categories will be charged P800 per team.

Registration forms and other details will be available early next weekhe added.
