‘SSTONe won’t join
transport rally’

The Sentrong Samahan ng Tsuper at Operators-Negros said yesterday that that they will not join the planned nationally-coordinated rally of the United Negros Drivers and Operators Center on March 24.

Its secretary general Jesse Ortega said in a telephone interview that the UNDOC leadership has not invited them to the rally, and they do not know the exact agenda for it.

UNDOC secretary general Diego Malacad said Tuesday that they will stop plying their routes for about an hour on Monday next week to air their concerns, in the hope that the national government will hear them.

Ortega said SSTONe is more concerned about their petition for a 50-cent fare hike before the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board.

A meeting scheduled between transport sector members and LTFRB representatives yesterday on the matter was postponed, he said.*PP
