Three more Ceres buses were apprehended this week, Land Transportation Office-Bacolod Law Enforcement Unit head Elmar Defensor said yesterday.
Two of the vehicles were apprehended for failure of the drivers to present the 2014 OR (official receipt) and CR (certificate of registration) of their buses, he said.
The third vehicle had a broken windshield, he added.
The drivers of the buses were given 72 hours to respond to the violations, he said, but, as of yesterday, they had not done so yet.
He said that the week before, 10 other Ceres buses were apprehended for various violations that included failure to carry franchise papers, operating out of line, and other minor offenses.
Three Cebro buses were also caught for failure to carry conductors’ licenses, he added.
He said the LTO Law Enforcement Unit is conducting daily inspections to ensure the road worthiness of public transportation to avoid accidents, and ensure the safety of passengers.*CPG
