Vallacar Transport Inc., operator of the Ceres buses, apologized to commuters yesterday for the limited number of their buses plying in the different areas in Negros Occidental.

Jade Marquez Seballos, its Legal and Media Relations manager, said some of their buses underwent self-preventive maintenance to ensure the safety of their passengers.

Seballos said they hope their normal operations can resume this week.

DTI exec sees growth of
GDP at 6.5 percent

A Department of Trade and Industry official yesterday said the gross domestic product growth rate is seen to be at its lowest range of 6.5 percent.

DTI Secretary Gregory Domingo said the expected higher inflation rate this year and the weak local currency will pull down the growth rate of domestic output.

He said inflation and exchange rate -- those two technically will have negative impact in the growth rate. It will pull down the growth rate.

‘Peugeot limited
recall ongoing’

Eurobrands Distributor Inc, distributor of the French car brand Peugeot, had issued a limited recall campaign beginning March 10 covering 59 units of the car brand, Department of Trade and Industry, Negros Occidental head, Rebecca Rascon, said in a press statement yesterday.

Rascon said Antonio Mallari Jr., After-Sales Director of EDI, informed DTI that all the parts and services will be provided free of charge to customers.

She said EDU, through its nationwide dealership network, is conducting the recall campaign to inspect, repair, and replace the brake booster of certain vehicles belonging to production batch of 508 and 5008 models sold in the Philippine market.
