Eurobrands Distributor Inc, distributor of the French car brand Peugeot, had issued a limited recall campaign beginning March 10 covering 59 units of the car brand, Department of Trade and Industry, Negros Occidental head, Rebecca Rascon, said in a press statement yesterday.
Rascon said Antonio Mallari Jr., After-Sales Director of EDI, informed DTI that all the parts and services will be provided free of charge to customers.
She said EDU, through its nationwide dealership network, is conducting the recall campaign to inspect, repair, and replace the brake booster of certain vehicles belonging to production batch of 508 and 5008 models sold in the Philippine market.
Rascon added that the initiative is in line with the recall program being implemented by Peugeot Citroen for the same part only, which, according to the company, cause a warning light to appear on the instrument panel.
Peugeot is distributed in 160 countries including the Philippines, with 10,000 contact points. In 2011, it sold 2,114,000 vehicles.
Four Peugeot variants are now being offered in showrooms in the country. These are the 3008 crossover, the 5008 compact MPV, the 508 executive sedan and RCZ sports car.*APN
