Team Architects captures
Paglaum Vlge cagefest title

Architects defeated Murcia Selection, 91-87, in overtime to win the crown in the Open division, while Team Tagay Boys routed 24-Aces, 79-54, was champion in the 21-Under category of the Paglaum Village Annual Fiesta Inter-barkada Basketball Tournament held at the PV covered Court in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.

The Architects and the visiting Murcia squad ended with a score of 78-all to force a 5-minute extension.

Toto Espares, Badoy Anatan, and Monit Gazan, Murcia started the extra period with a 5-0 lead at 83-78 but the Architects caught up in the final two minutes to tie the game at 87-all.

Arnold Bono converted a three-pointer with nine seconds left in the game clock for the Architects, while most valuable player Gerald Abrot, topscored for the winning team had 29 points.

Joemarie Bayhon contributed 26 points including four treys for the Archtiects, while Ryan Gela, who delivered the game-tying shot at the end of the regulation to force the overtime, added seven points.

Espares and Gazan had 24 and 23, respectively, for the losing Murcia team.

Meanwhile, Peter John Deles led Delsfire past Marwin Resto Bar, 92-82, for third place.

In the 21-under category, Tagay Boys beat 24-Aces in the finals to win the championship.

Rolly Tigayon Jr. converted 19 points, while Jeric Italia and Christian Aritao trickled 15 and 14 each.

Kier Baylon and Joshua Gonzaga tallied double figures for the Aces with 11 and 10.*HLG
