BTTHS beats SJI in
PBA Youngstars

Bacolod Tay Tung turned back St. John's Institute , 74-50, to take solo leadership in Bracket B of the Coca Cola PBA Youngstars Bacolod leg eliminations at West Negros University Gym, Friday, a press release from the organizers said.

Jesmar Pedrosa topscored for the Thunderbolts with 20 points, center Miguel Corteza added 19, Errol Pastor scattered 18 and Fritz Tagamolila has 8 markers for the win, the press release said.

The Tay Tung boys of coach Mark Belangel jumped to 25-16 in the first quarter and registered a 17-8 clamping in the second canto for a 42-24 lead at halftime.

A 19-9 surge in the third farther advanced BTTHS' advantage as SJI coach Richi Militante could not find the right combination to stop the onslaught.

From a 33-61 disadvantage, Hua Ming tried to catch up but the most it could counter was a 17-all standoff in the final quarter, the press release said.

The victory put the Thunderbolts atop its group and directly in the path of either University of Negros Occidental Recoletos or West Negros University in the crossover semifinal, the press release added.*
