Seven mothers vying
for ‘Gng Santacruzan’

Seven mothers will vie for the title, “Ginang ng Santacruzan 2014”, at 7 p.m. on May 30, at the Quezon Park in Dumaguete City.

They are Elzha Mae Encabo-Truno, Jane Aninon-Baroy, Sherie May Baena-Abestano, Georgette Confino-Gomez, Ceres Margaret Catacutan-Mangibin, Shekina Lasola-Aguilar, and Grecilda Acson-Jandog.

The search is part of the “Kabiling Dumagueteño: Summer Beats of the Past”, and aims to recognize mothers for their personal achievements, dedication to their families, and contributions to the communities, a press release from the city said.

The winner will receive P15,000 in cash prize; P10,000 – first runner-up, P5,000 – second runner-up, and P2,000 as consolation prizes. Special prizes will also be given.

Dumaguete Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria will give an inspirational message during the coronation night.*JFP/PR
