Around 1,500 public school teachers from seven divisions of Negros Oriental and Siquijor will be in Silliman University until May 21 for the mass training of grade 9 teachers on the K to 12 Basic Education Program, a press release from SU said.
The participants come from the divisions of Bayawan, Dumaguete, Tanjay, Bais, Guihulngan, Siquijor and Negros Oriental. The training is a partnership between Silliman and the Department of Education, the press release also said.
SU is one of the first schools in the Central Visayas that have comprehensively prepared for the implementation of the K to 12 education reform. It also assisted other schools in the Visayas and Mindanao on the integration of the program, the press release said.
