Team C of president Edwin Fregil pulled off a come-from-behind 82-77 win against the Bong Ibe-led Team B, while Danny Chua’s Team D beat Team A of Jun Ballesteros, 94-83, at the opening of the Your Basketball Athletic Club Inter-color Basketball Tournament at the West Negros University gym, a press release from YBAC said.

After falling behind in the first three quarters, Team C rallied in the last four minutes of the final quarter and nailed an equalizer for the first deadlock of the game at 69-all.

Rolly Buenaflor placed Team C ahead at 72-71 but Pedrito Rosales reclaimed the lead as he scored to peg the score at 73-72, the press release said.

Team C scored again in transition but missed a free throw to put the game on the line. Team B, however, committed a crucial turn overs that allowed Team C to hold on to the lead and seal the victory.

Sipe topscored for Team C with 24 points as Buenaflor delivered 16 points, Eman Soriano added 13, Fregil had 12, Ritchie Yanson contributed 8 points, Eugene Tsai chipped in 6, and Pandanduyan finished with 3 points, the press release said.

Ibe led Team B with 16 points, Pendon added 13, Luciano and Mario Reyes with 12 points apiece, Nathaniel Bacaron nailed 6 points, Pete Apura and Eugene Valenzuela hit 5 points each, and Eric Abanilla and Rosales with two points each, the press release said.

In the other match, Team D relied on their deep bench to dominate the game with Ernie Castillo finishing with 25 points, while teammate Marlon Caballero backed him up with 19 markers, Randy Pudadera added 14, Dr. Emil Guazon scored 11 points, Abraham Magay 6 points.

Ruday Nonato and Narciso Galang scored 20 points each to lead Team A in a losing effort as Joel Libanan added 8 points, Jojo Chua 7, Romy Sibolboro, Jason Olivar and Lito Diolaso 6 points each, the press release added.*
