Vice President Jejomar Binay will be back in Negros Occidental today and tomorrow, while Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas is expected in July.
The return of the two soon after their recent visits have fuelled speculations that the presidential campaign for the 2016 polls has began.
Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. yesterday noted that Negros Occidental is a vote-rich province, coming in fourth after Cebu, Pangasinan and Cavite.
The governor has announced his support for the presidential bid of Roxas.
Binay will be the keynote speaker at the opening ceremonies of the 58thAnnual National Council Meeting of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines in Silay City this evening, and is expected to sign agreements with local governments for socialized housing in Talisay City on Wednesday.
Roxas, on the other hand, is expected to return to Bacolod City in July with President Benigno Aquino III for the inauguration of the Negros First CyberCentre, the governor said.
Asked if he will meet with Binay during his visit, Marañon said he will be in Manila for engagements set earlier.*CPG back
