An Indian national was held up and robbed in Paglaum Village, Purok Fortaleza in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City, by two unidentified men on a motorcycle at about 12:45 p.m. yesterday, police reports said.
Senior Insp. Neil Exaltado, Station 7 chief, identified the victim as Gill Singh, 25, of Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod, and a blanket vendor from India.
Singh told the police that he was in Paglaum Village, collecting payments for debts when the two men approached him suddenly, pointed a knife at his back, and declared a hold-up.
The victim, who said he could not identify the suspects because he had not seen their faces, gave his cellular phone and motorcycle keys to them. They also took the two blankets he was selling, and P10,000 in cash, Exaltado said.
One of the suspects fled on a red Bajaj motorcycle and the other one on Singh’s motorcycle.
In a follow-up operation, Singh’s motorcycle and blankets were recovered in Purok Progreso, Paglaum Village, Exaltado said.
However, Singh filed an affidavit yesterday afternoon saying that he has no interest in filing a case against the suspects because he does not know them personally, Exaltado added.
Meanwhile, a house in Villa Alexandra II, Brgy. Estefania in Bacolod, was ransacked and robbed at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
Armando Brillantes, 48, told the police that a flat screen television worth P40,000, assorted jewelry worth P15,000, and P5,000 in cash were stolen from his house when he and his family were out.
Initial investigation showed that the suspects climbed the perimeter fence and destroyed the back door of the house to gain entry.*JSS back
