BY RENE GENOVE

Silliman University and the Negros Oriental State University in Dumaguete City will not increase their tuition fees for school-year 2014-2015.

Foundation University has applied for an increase in tuition, but only for incoming students.

SU president Ben Malayang III had earlier said he supports universities and colleges that applied for tuition and fee adjustments before the Commission on Higher Education.

He said the adjustments are needed to improve the quality of education they offer, he said, adding that, unlike in public schools, the education services of the private schools are financed, mainly by tuition and other fees.*RG
