At least 300 golf players from all over the country and abroad are expected to see action in the 17th Dr. Pablo O. Torre Memorial Golf Tournament set on May 23-25 at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club in Bacolod City, a press release from the organizers said.
Organized by the Dr. Pablo O. Torre Foundation. Inc., the golf event, themed, “Play Golf. Through the tournament, DPOTFI, hopes to complement its relief operation for typhoon Yolanda victims in Panay, Northern Negros and Bantayan Island. The Foundation earlier donated paddle boats to small fishermen in these areas through its “Donate A Boat Project”.
The golf tournament will also benefit other charitable partner institutions kof DPOTFI such as the Bacolod Kadughan Foundation, St. Vincent’s Home for the Elder Persons, and St. Mary’s Home for the Aged in Bacolod City, the press release said.
Official tee off is on Saturday at the NOGCC golf course with DPOTFI president and chairman Dr. Hector Torre as the overall chairman of the event.*
