PNP screening informants
to share in Ayalin reward

BY GILBERT BAYORAN

The Philippine National Police will start screening those to be given the reward for the arrest of former Silay barangay chairman Noel Ayalin, as soon as they receive the names of the informants, Senior Supt. Milko Lirazan yesterday said.

Lirazan, who is the acting provincial police director of Negros Occidental, said he has received reports that many are claiming to be the informants who helped the police in locating Ayalin.

The former Silay barangay chairman, who is facing murder, frustrated murder and attempted homicide charges, was arrested last week in Zambales and is now detained at the Bacolod District Jail.

Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. had offered a P500,000 reward for the arrest of Ayalin, and the city government of Silay has allocated P300,000.

Marañon said the cash reward will be given to the informants to be shared among them by the PNP after they present the required papers and documentation.

With the arrest of Ayalin, the NOPPO Public Safety Company will now focus their efforts on other Negrense fugitives, listed among the top 20 most-wanted persons in Western Visayas, following the arrest of Ayalin, its commander, Chief Inspector Gabriel Gutierrez, said.

Romeo Corbo, a former deputized agent of the Land Transportation Office, is facing three counts of murder and frustrated murder.

Corbo ranks second in the list of most wanted person in Western Visayas, and is wanted for the alleged massacre of couple Ranulfo and Elsa Javellana, and their daughter, Gina Javellana Zaragoza, in Brgy. 1 Poblacion, Sagay City, on July 29, 2011, police records show.

Another Negrense fugitive, Charlie Seva, an alleged leader of the notorious Seva robbery-hold-up group, was reported to have been killed in a recent gunbattle with the police in Brgy. Nanca, EB Magalona.

Other Negrense fugitives who are in the top 20 list are Jestoni Carlo del Prado-robbery with multiple homicide, murder, robbery and frustrated homicide, Joseph de la Torre – murder and robbery, Prudencio Rosarito Jr – murder, Ramie Poja – murder, Jesus Niepes – robbery with homicide and Godwin Fernandez – robbery with multiple homicide.*GPB
