Flooding hits some Bacolod areas
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Some areas in Bacolod City experienced flooding during a heavy downpour late yesterday afternoon.

Disaster Risk Reduction Management head Rufino Alcala said they went around the city yesterday to monitor areas that were reportedly flooded and also sent a team to respond to a request for assistance in Brgy. Pahanocoy. But when the team got there, the flood has already subsided, he said.

Alcala said some areas in Libertad and Mandalagan were also flooded, perhaps because the existing drainage system may be clogged and too small to hold huge volume of water.

There were no evacuations reported yesterday because the water subsided after the rain stopped, he said.*CGS
