BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

The Civil Service Commission Regional Office 6 has ordered Bacolod Mayor Monico Puentevella to restore Mary Jean Ramos to her original position after granting her appeal, and reversed and set aside the Office Memorandum Order No. 010-02-14 dated Feb. 7 he issued.

The Commission directed Puentevella to restore Ramos to her position as City Government Department Head ll (City Planning and Development Coordinator) and allow her to perform her duties and responsibilities, with payment of back salaries and benefits, along with her Representation and Transportation Allowance (RATA), from the time she was illegally dropped from the rolls as department head of the CPDO on Feb. 7, until her actual reinstatement.

Ramos was appointed as CPDO department head on Feb. 16, 2013 under permanent status by former Mayor and now Bacolod Rep. Evelio Leonardia.moremoremore

Sugar order to curb
rising prices out

BY CARLA GOMEZ

Sugar leaders welcomed yesterday the Sugar Regulatory Administration order issued Friday converting “D” or world market sugar into “B” or domestic sugar under certain conditions.

The order is intended to curb the rise in domestic sugar prices mainly because of an unprecedented increase in demand for local sugar, SRA Administrator Ma. Regina Martin said.

It is in the national interest to institute measures that will bring about stabilized prices of domestic sugar that are fair to consumers and reasonable for producers, Martin said.
