P4-M water system project
turned over to 4 barangays

A level II gravity-fed water system project, worth P4,182,258, was turned over to barangays in Bindoy town, Negros Oriental, recently.

Around P3,070,861 was sourced from the Millennium Challenge Corp., and the remaining P1,111,396 as local counterpart contribution.

The project was proposed by barangays Batangan, Malaga, Nagcasunog and Pangalaycayan, all of Bindoy, and was prioritized for funding by the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan - Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services poverty reduction program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

NEGORNET election held

Msgr. Merlin Logronio, president of the St. Maria Goretti Foundation, was re-elected president of the Negros Oriental Network of NGOs during the 22nd annual general assembly held at the Function Hall of the DCCCO Multi-purpose Cooperative in Dumaguete City, recently, a press release from the foundation said.

Also elected as other officers for 2014-2015 were Arturo Umbac of the YMCA, vice president; Nancy Estolloso, TUBURAN, corporate secretary; Michael Johann Hojas, PHCCI, treasurer; and Hipolito Qillan, KKCC, auditor, the press release also said.
