The remaining performance incentive bonus of the Negros Occidental Capitol employees of P10,000 is expected to be released next week in time for the opening of classes, an officer of the Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees said yesterday.
Ruben Diamante, chairman of the PACE Committee on Finance, said the Sangguniang Panlalawigan has approved the release of the amount.
He said this is very timely for the opening of classes, as it can be used for tuition and other needs of the children of Capitol employees.
Meanwhile, Diamante denied that there is any anomaly in the collection of contributions by PACE from its members for funeral assistance to provincial government employees.
Diamante gave the explanation after some Capitol employees complained about the PACE notice to their members that P420 would be deducted from their salaries for funeral assistance to the kin of their colleagues who had passed away.
Those complaining said PACE should account for all the money collected for the purpose.
Diamante said that since 2010, PACE has released P11.16 million, at P30,000 each, to the families of 373 Capitol employees who have passed away.
He said there are pending claims for 28 other deaths, hence the need to collect the additional P420 from the provincial government employees.*CPG
