of marijuana confiscated
BY SHIELA GELERA

Two men were nabbed in a buy-bust operation at Quezon Street, Bandong Subdivision in Brgy. 4, Victorias City, Negros Occidental, at about 11:55 a.m. yesterday.

The police identified those arrested as Rufino Espinosa Jr., alias “Junior”, 38, and Ruel Hernandez, 36, both of Brgy. 4 in the city.

Espinosa and Hernandez were apprehended after they handed to a police poseur-buyer, six sticks of suspected marijuana cigarets, in exchange for P100 in marked money, Supt. Santiago Rapiz, Victorias City police chief, said.

Seven more sticks of suspected marijuana cigarets and P180 in cash, believed to be proceeds from the illegal sale of marijuana, were also recovered from the suspects, police records show.

Rapiz said Espinosa and Hernandez are now detained at the Victorias Police Station, and charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against them, he added.

The buy-bust was a joint operation of the Victorias Police Station, led by Rapiz, and the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office Intelligence Unit, led by Senior Police Officer 3 Dandy Ilalto, police records show.*SGG
