New solon looks
into two districts
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Abang Lingkod Partylist Rep. Stephen Paduano yesterday said he will consult with Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3 rd District) and Rep. Evelio Leonardia (Bacolod) on the proposed creation of two congressional districts for Bacolod City.

He will consult with Leonardia since he is the congressman of Bacolod and with Benitez because of his statement that he will sponsor the move.

Paduano, former national commander of the Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade, also said he will support the proposed Sugarcane Act of Benitez that is up for second and third reading in the Lower House.

He also said if the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program is extended again, he will push for the budget to be refocused on support services for farmer beneficiaries.

Focus of land distribution should be on public unproductive lands rather than on existing productive lands, he also said.

Paduano said he will also consult with the fisher folk of Hinigaran, who have concerns they want to raise with him for assistance.*CPG
