The Department of Trade and Industry  announced new suggested retail prices for basic and selected prime commodities  nationwide yesterday.

Basic necessities such as canned sardines, processed milk, coffee, laundry soap, instant noodles and bottled water and prime commodities such as canned goods, condiments, toilet soaps and even batteries, were the items included in the new suggested retail price, DTI provincial director Rebecca Rascon said.

She said the suggested retail prices for sardines are: King Cup at P12.50, Hakone P13, Young's Town P13.25, Lucky 7 P13.75, and Hakata at P13.25  all in 155 grams can. Prices for Alaska Sweetened Milk is at P53 and Milkmaid full cream milk at P65.85 in 300ml cans, while SRP for powdered milk are: Alaska filled milk 370ml at P38.20, Alpine full cream milk 70ml at P52.60 and Angel filled milk 410ml-P38.15.

For laundry soap, Mr. Clean 420g at P20.50, Perla 380g at P44, Surf Bar 400g -P18.95, Speed Blue Bar400g - P18.05, Champion Bar 400g - P19.00 and Budget bar 400g at P17.25.

SRP for noodles, Lucky Me 55g at P7.10, Payless 55g - P6.30 and  Quickchow 55g - P6.85. For bottled water, Wilkins 330ml at P11, 500ml - P16, 1 liter - P25 and 6 liters at P81. For Absolute brand, 350ml at P11, 500ml - P15, 1 liter - P25 and 6 liter at P78, while for SM bonus brand, 325ml at P6, 500ml - P8 and 6 liter - P50.

For the prime commodities, CDO luncheon meat 165g at P27.50 for supermarket and P30.50 in wet markets, Purefoods Chinese style 165g at P30.55 and Argentine meatloaf 150g at P15.90. Argentina corned beef 150g at P28.50, Ligo 175g - P32.00 and Purefoods Star 150g - P27.
