Another group of 103 farmers received their Certificates of Land Ownership Award from the Negros Occidental Agrarian Reform 2 office in Hinigaran town Friday.

The 138-hectare property in Brgy. Palayog, Hinigaran, was formerly owned by Juan Isasi.

The ceremony started with a thanksgiving mass by Fr. Ernie Larida who told the beneficiaries that the land is a gift from God because of His love for the farmers. He said the gift should be reciprocated by loving it and handling it carefully and not let it get to the hands of other people.

Hinigaran municipal agrarian reform officer, Zenaida Montalbo, reminded the farmers of their hardships and long wait that should not be put to waste. She said the land is for their childern ‘s future and a legacy to bequeth to them when they are no longer capable of tilling it themselves.

Present at the awarding were various ARB group representatives, the Natinal Police of Hinigaran led by Lino Dalisay, barangay officials and some local government offials.

The group named Jon Ysasi Agrarian Reform Cooperative is already an organized group for the awarding of the CLOAs.*MNM
