2015 investment plan

The Provincial Development Council of Negros Occidental yesterday approved the P15 billion Annual Investment Plan, and P469.5 million 20 Percent Development Fund for 2015 during its regular session yesterday in Talisay City.

The 2015 AIP, described by Provincial Planning and Development Officer Ma. Lina Sanogal as a “wish list”, contains programs, projects and activities being targeted for implementation by the provincial government of Negros Occidental, next year.

Whether the funds for whatever programs, projects and activities are to be sourced out from loans, foreign funding, Public Private Partnership, or whatever, they should be already in the AIP, Sanogal said..moremoremore

The Provincial Investment Board was organized yesterday to identify investment priorities and formulate promotion plans for Negros Occidental, former Negros Occidental Gov. Rafael Coscolluela said yesterday.

Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. chairs the board with Coscolluela as vice chairman.

The board was created in line with the recently approved Provincial Investment Code to oversee the implementation and execution of the investment promotion program of the province, Coscolluela said.moremoremore

P1.4-M ‘shabu’ seized from widow

About P1.4 million worth of suspected shabu was seized, and a widow was arrested, in an anti-drug operation in Barangay Looc, Dumaguete City, yesterday.

Police identified the suspect as Virginia Dacula Estologa, 56, of Zone 4, Looc.

Operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Branch-Special Operations Group,  armed with a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Gerardo Paguio Jr., and headed by Senior Insp. Jul Mohamad Jamiri, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, swooped down on the house of Estologa.moremoremore
