Director Allan Francis Daraug of the Negros Occidental Provincial Science and Technology was hailed as the Best Provincial Science and Technology Director during the PSTD awarding ceremony recently at the SMX Convention Center in Lanang, Davao City.
Daraug bested two other finalists from Regions 1 and 2 to receive the award. Under his stewardship as Provincial Science and Technology Director, Daraug was able to implement 54 projects under the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program. He was also able to conduct a Science and Technology Caravan among local government units that includes forum and consultancy services.
Daraug acquired his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering degree at the College of San Agustin in Bacolod City and got his Master’s Degree in Public Management at the Ateneo de Manila University. He started his career at the Department of Science and Technology-Food and Nutrition Research Institute and was eventually assigned at the DOST Region VI, and at the Negros Occidental Science and Technology Center.
Mary Michelle Quiambao, PSTD of Pampanga was first runner-up while Felicidad Gan, PSTD of Pangasinan was 2nd runner up during the awarding ceremony.*MNM
