Will Charlie run in 2016?
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Is former Rep. Carlos Cojuangco (Neg. Occ., 4th District) making a comeback in 2016?

The question was raised yesterday after Cojuango, in an interview over ABS-CBN, said that running for public office is always a possibility.

“Every time there is an upcoming election, you assess, you talk to the people, you get their pulse…it’s always a possibility but its not a necessity,” he said.

The term of Rep. Jeffrey Ferrer (Neg. Occ., 5th District) ends in 2016 and speculation is that his wife La Carlota Mayor Juliet Marie Ferrer will run in his place.

It is not known if Cojuangco will challenge her for the post.

Yesterday there was also media speculation that Cojuangco who is a member of the Nationalist People’s Coalition will run for governor of Negros Occidental.

Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, who is also an NPC member, said he has not heard of Cojuangco’s being open to running for governor when asked if he was willing to be his runningmate.

He said perhaps he will pick up some news at the NPC Christmas Party at their headquarters at Balete Drive in Quezon City on December 9.

All NPC members are invited, he said.

Lacson refused to comment on his political plans for 2016 saying it is to early for that.*CPG
