Vendor killed, brgy head injured

An ambulant vendor was killed, while a barangay chairman was slightly injured, in shooting incidents during the weekend in Isabela, Negros Occidental.

Two unidentified suspects, who were armed with caliber .45 and 9mm pistols, shot Barangay Amin chairman Noel Magkilat, 51, in Brgy. Amin, Isabela,at about 10 p.m. Saturday.

Magkilat sustained a slight injury on the right side of his face. The two suspects fled immediately, investigations of the Isabela police showed.

Two empty shells of caliber 45 and 9mm pistols were recovered at the crime scene.

Three hours after, Mark White, an ambulant vendor, was also shot and killed by an unidentified gunman, at a sari-sari store in the same barangay.

Sarona said White, succumbed to four gunshot wounds on the spot.

Four spent shells and a slug of a 9mm pistol were recovered at the crime scene, which is about 20 meters away from an area, where barangay chairman Magkilat was shot.

Sarona said they are still investigating if the two shooting incidents were linked to each other.

The recovered spent shells were brought by the Isabela police to PNP Crime Laboratory in Bacolod City for ballistic examinations.

Sarona confirmed that they have invited for questioning a person, who was linked by a witness to the shooting of White.* GPB
