Capitol releases 13th month pay
BY CARLA GOMEZ

The Negros Occidental provincial government yesterday began releasing the other half of the 13th month pay and cash gifts of its about 2,300 employees, Provincial Administrator Enrique Pinongan said.

He said the first half of the 13th month pay and P2,500 of the P5,000 cash gift were released in May.

The amount for the additional Christmas bonus of the Capitol employees has yet to be determine, he said.

Last year the additional bonus given the provincial government employees was P38,000, Pinongan added.

The 13th month and cash gift payrolls of three departments - treasurer’s, accounting and human resource – were ready for release yesterday, he said.

He expects those of all other departments to be ready today.

Meanwhile, he said no final date has been set yet for the inauguration of the Negros First CyberCentre built by the provincial government in Bacolod City.

It will depend on the schedule of President Benigno Aquino III who has been invited to the inauguration by Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr., he said.

Meanwhile, Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday said he thinks the Negros Occidental budget for 2015 will definitely be approved before the year ends.

The last budget committee hearing is on Nov. 19 and it could be approved by the SP as early as the first session day of December, he added.*CPG
