Words fly over  flyover

Bacolod Mayor Monico Puentevella asked the Department of Public Works and Highways to start the construction of the proposed flyover project at the Magsaysay-Araneta intersection, during the public consultation held at the DPWH-Bacolod City Engineering District Office in Barangay Taculing yesterday.

Puentevella said the feasibility study for the flyover along Magsaysay-Araneta streets had already been approved back in 2010 when he was yet congressman.

He claimed that he had requested for two flyovers for the city from former President Gloria Macarapagal Arroyo and one is the structure along Bata-Circumferential Road.moremoremore

Let’s remain sober,
logical, solon says
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Bacolod Rep. Evelio Leonardia yesterday said he is “full of good intentions”  for the good of the city in proposing the construction of two more flyovers in Bacolod, at the intersections of Circumferential Road-Burgos Avenue and Araneta-Magsaysay Avenues, costing a total of P700 million.

This was his reaction to Mayor Monico Puentevella’s statements at the public consultation on the proposed flyovers held at the Department of Public Works and Highways-Bacolod City District Engineer’s Office compound yesterday.

“This is just a consultation. This is not judgment day. Let us discuss this in a sober, logical, intellectual, and fair manner. Nothing will get done if we ‘cry’ all the time,” Leonardia said. moremoremore
