Bago, St. Scho,
Don Bosco  win DFL title

The Dynamic Football League 3rd Conference ended Saturday with Don Bosco Technical Institute winning title in the Under 11 division, St. Scholastica’s Academy capturing the crown in the Ladies Under 17, and Ramon Torres National High School of Bago City bagging the championship in the Under 15 category.

After finishing first runner-up behind Trinity Christian School in the 2nd Conference, the young Bosconians exacted revenge Saturday and dethroned Trinity, 3-2, with two goals from Humphrey Bacatan and Jose Maria Belandres.

Head coach Jose Reymando Baldava said it was not an easy win for his young wards but he always told them to enjoy the game while giving their best inside the field.

Pacquiao dominates Algieri,
keeps WBO welterweight belt

Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao comprehensively dismantled American Chris Algieri to retain his World Boxing Organization welterweight title at the Cotai Arena in Macau yesterday.

Pacquiao dropped Algieri to the canvas six times during the 12-round contest in the southern Chinese city to win an overwhelming unanimous decision, 119-103, 119-103, 120-102 on the judges' cards.

Algieri, the unbeaten WBO light welterweight champion, was outclassed from the start, with the eight-division world champion Pacquiao knocking the Long Islander down in the second round, twice in both the sixth and ninth rounds, and finally again in the 10th.

Kaya outlasts Bar 21 to
win crown at Ayala

Nobody expected them to win.

All they wanted was to score at least one win in the tournament.

After going winless in the past two conferences, Kaya didn’t only win a game.

It went all the way to grab its first-ever title after outlasting in come-from-behind fashion the hard-fighting three-time champion  Bar21/Seafood Island, 93-84,  in Game 3 of the ABC-4Life Transfer Factor Cup in Ayala Northpoint Talisay Thursday last week.
