‘SP approves P1.55B
2015 Bacolod budget

The Sangguniang Panlungsod unanimously approved on first, second and third reading yesterday Bacolod City’s 2015 annual budget, amounting to P1.55 billion, which is an increase of P285 million from the 2014 budget.
Acting Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran yesterday said those who were not present yesterday were councilors Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, Carlos Jose Lopez and Caesar Distrito. He said Lopez is attending a seminar in Manila, Distrito is on official travel, while Batapa-Sigue’s father just passed away.
Familiaran said the 2015 annual budget was approved with certain colatillas or conditions.

P2.6B budget soon

The proposed P2.637 billion 2015 budget of the Negros Occidental provincial government is targeted to be approved on second reading by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan tomorrow, and on third and final reading on December 3, Board Member Salvador Escalante said yesterday.
Escalante, SP Committee on Finance chairman, said hearings on the budget with the various departments of the provincial government have been completed, and he hopes to submit his committee report by tomorrow to the SP for second reading.
Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. is expected to submit an itemized budget for the 20 Percent Development Fund and Gender and Development Fund in the 2015 budget as requested by the SP, Escalante said.

P93,000 marijuana seized
from female drug peddler

Around two kilos of dried marijuana leaves with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P93,000, were seized from a suspected female drug peddler in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Canday-ong,Barangay Calindagan, Dumaguete City, yesterday.
The suspect was identified as Maria Mirasol Ragay, 38, single with four children, a report from the Provincial Intelligence Branch-Special Operations Group of the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office, headed by Senior Insp. Jul Mohammad Jamiri, said..
