MassKara Queen gives
winnings to Girls Home
MassKara Queen 2014 Christine Joy Madamba turned over her P25,000 advocacy prize to the Bacolod Girls Home Wednesday, a press release from organizers said.
The check was received by Bacolod Girls Home Foundation Inc. president Tess Gensoli, witnessed by Home residents and officers, the Kasadya Bacolod Foundation Inc. headed by Rhoderick Samonte, CGI Excel general manager Charie Ginete-Ilon, and CP Tyne president Michelle Gasataya, the press release also said.
Gensoli thanked Madamba for her generosity, and said the donation will go a long way to help in the daily needs of the children at the Home.
Aside from the P25,000 prize for her chosen advocacy, Madamba also received P75,000 in cash prize, and special and corporate awards, such as Miss Advocacy, Miss Supercat, Miss Photogenic, Miss Sun Cellular Texter’s Choice Award, and Miss Karat World. She has chosen the Bacolod Girls Home as the beneficiary of her advocacy for women and children’s rights, the press release added.*

Peace poster contest held
The Mount Kanlandog Lions Club held a peace poster contest at the barangay hall of Taculing in Bacolod City recently, a press release from the club said.
First place winner was Jimmy John Hofelena of the CV Ramos Elementary School, who won P800, and was coached by Grace Jereos; Lorelei Navales, Puentevella Elementary School, second place, with P500 in cash prize; and Danica Althea Villarosa, also of the CV Ramos Elementary School, third, who won P300. They were coached by Elsie Montano and Jereos, respectively, the press release also said.
The judges were Roy Sibug, Tony Jocson and Cyrene Cuenca. The event was supported by club president Mario Pao and Taculing Barangay Captain Alexander Diamante, the press release added.*
