A P1.5 million Capital SEED Fund was released to 219 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program qualified beneficiaries from the 11 Sagay City barangays under the Sustainable Livelihood Program – Bottoms Up Budgeting of the Department of Social Welfare and Development
The cash assistance ranged from a minimum of P5,400 to a maximum of P10,000, depending on the project proposals submitted by the beneficiaries, a Sagay City press release said.
City Social Welfare Development Officer, Concepcion Javellana told the beneficiaries to be grateful especially to the Almighty for all these blessings and warned the beneficiaries to utilize the fund only for which it is intended.
Rodnel de los Reyes, Sagay City Planning and Development officer, said the livelihood assistance released was not a dole out but an interest-free loan.
Mayor Alfredo Marañon III said the cash assistance is a very good opportunity for the beneficiaries to start a small business, manage the fund and the business properly.*
