Bacolod Christian College of Negros booked the championship in the secondary boys’ team event, while St. Scholastica’s Academy reigned in secondary and elementary girls’ team event to lead the winners in NOPSSCEA Season 34 badminton competition held at the LOPTTA club house in Lopue’s San Sebastian Annex Bldg, in Bacolod City.

The elementary boys’ team event competition was dominated by House of Praise with Ken Andrei Memoria winning the championship in elementary boys’ singles event as Mark Alfonso Landabora of BTTHS placed first runner-up.

Trinity Christian School settled for first runner-up honors in the secondary boys’ team event, while St. Joseph School – La Salle picked up the second runner-up honors.

In the secondary girls’ team event, SJS – LS finished behind SSA, while Southland High School of Kabankalan landed at third place.

Bacolod Tay Tung High School was first runner-up in the elementary boys’ team event as SSA finished second runner-up.

In addition to a top finish in the elementary boys’ team event, House of Praise also secured the second place honors in the elementary girls’ team event.

Individual awardees in the competition include John Michael Castro and Niel John Laures of BCCN taking the top two places in secondary boys’ singles event, while Jeff Poluhanan of Trinity settled for second runner-up.

Gabyrylle Villanueva of SSA was champion in secondary girls’ event as Cherrica Uytiepo of SJS-LS and Nathalie Librando of BTTHS placed second and third, respectively.

It was a 1-2 finish for SSA in the elementary girls’ singles event with Glieza Shane Mari Cordova winning the championship against teammate Stephanie Reign Villanueva.*NAB
