The Negros Oriental Electric Cooperative 2 Siaton sub-area billing office will start implementing the read-and-bill system effective this month through the use of its new meter reading device in Siaton and Zamboanguita towns in Negros Oriental.

Sharon Araula of Noreco 2 said the read-and–bill system is one of the innovations of the cooperative to be more efficient in providing quality service to its member-customer-owners.

She said MCOs in Siaton and Zamboanguita should expect the meter reader to read their meters using the new device. Immediately after the reading, she said, the coop meter reader will print out the statement of account and hand it to the MCO.

This method will hasten the circuitous way in which electric bills/SOAs were previously processed, she said. Bills or SOAs can be delivered quickly and consequently, payment can also be collected promptly, Araula said.*RG
