Noreco 2 implementing
read-and-bill system

The Negros Oriental Electric Cooperative 2 Siaton sub-area billing office will start implementing the read-and-bill system effective this month through the use of its new meter reading device in Siaton and Zamboanguita towns in Negros Oriental.
Sharon Araula of Noreco 2 said the read-and–bill system is one of the innovations of the cooperative to be more efficient in providing quality service to its member-customer-owners.
She said MCOs in Siaton and Zamboanguita should expect the meter reader to read their meters using the new device. Immediately after the reading, she said, the coop meter reader will print out the statement of account and hand it to the MCO.

Tourism plans Tourism stakeholders in Dumaguete City and Negros Oriental recently attended the first Belfry Tourism Conventionat the Provincial Convention Center that coincided with World Tourism Day. The conventiontook up challenges of the local tourism industry. Dumaguete City is currently the third top tourist destination in Central Visayas. The first Belfry Tourism Convention theme was “Tourism and Community Development and its logo resembles the famous Campanario de Dumaguete or heritage structures of the city. |

Dumaguete high school The Junob National High School in Barangay Talay, Dumaguete City, was tagged as “Maka-Kalikasan (Environment Friendly) by the Philippine Information Agency and the Department of the Environment and Natural Resources, in Negros Oriental, recently, a government press release said. It was the second school to be identified as an environment-friendly campus, after the Hermenegilda National High School in Barangay Banilad, also in Dumaguete, the press release also said. A team from the PIA and DENR had earlier held a school caravan to educate students on ways to mitigate the adverse impacts of climate change. |
