The RJ Stars/Negros Professional Bowlers Club October fest Mix Trio Bowling Tournament opens at 6 p.m. yesterday at the Super Bowling Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City after a meeting of team captains and managers.
Tournament committee chair Rowena Juarez said the event is open to all active and aspiring bowling enthusiasts in Bacolod and neighboring towns and cities.
The competition is a seven-scheduled round event where the top three teams will play in an up-the-ladder system to determine the champion.
Only one rated B player is allowed to play and two non-rated, or three non-rated bowler per game.
A team can enlist two rated B players in their lined-up but only one is allowed to play per game.
Only players who have played at least three games in the elimination round are allowed to play in the up-the-ladder system.
Rated B players will have a minus-5 points to be deducted from their total score per game.
The team and individual record holders in pinning, single and triple will also be awarded.
The tournament’s top 10 bowlers will play two games each to determine the top three winners.
Registration is pegged at P 1,500.
Meanwhile, the two-day Pre-Masskara Open Trio Bowling Tournament will open Oct.10 at the New Top’s Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City.
It is a 5-game series event where the top three squads will compete in the finals on Oct.15.
Three games will be played on opening day and two in the championship.
The “2014 Masskara Regional Open Trio Bowling Championship” follows on Oct.18 and 19 at the same venue. *HLG
