LCC, USLS boys unbeaten
in NOPSSCEA volleyball
Young spikers from La Consolacion College – Bacolod, and University of St. La Salle – Integrated School, posted their fourth straight win Sunday in separated matches to stay unbeaten in the NOPSSCEA Season 34 high school boys’ volleyball and the USLS Covered Court.
The Jimmy Dequilla-mentored USLS –IS team had an easy win against Don Bosco Technical Institute, 25=7, 25-10, while LCC-Bacolod, coached by Manolo Galang, routed Brookside GA, 25-8, 25-12.
The top three teams in the three brackets of the high school boys’ division will advance to the modified page system finals, tournament manager Efren Timtiman said.

Mix Trio bowling tourney The RJ Stars/Negros Professional Bowlers Club October fest Mix Trio Bowling Tournament opens at 6 p.m. yesterday at the Super Bowling Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City after a meeting of team captains and managers. Tournament committee chair Rowena Juarez said the event is open to all active and aspiring bowling enthusiasts in Bacolod and neighboring towns and cities. The competition is a seven-scheduled round event where the top three teams will play in an up-the-ladder system to determine the champion. |

FEU moves closer to UAAP crown The Far Eastern University Tamaraws moved one step closer from clinching first title in nine years after beating National University Bulldgos, 75-70, on Saturday night in the UAAP at the Mall of Asia Arena. The Tamaraws leaned on Mike Tolomia who lead FEU with 15 points. Roger Pogoy scored 10 of his 14 points in the decisive third quarter to give the Tamaraws a 60-50. |
