The suspects took more than P400,000 in cash from the Hinobaan treasurer’s office.
Supt. Leo Batiles and Supt Arnel Arpon, police chiefs of Escalante and Bago, respectively, where similar incidents also took place, were also spared from relief, as their city halls are were secured by watchmen under the payroll of concerned local governments, he said.
The suspects took about P2 million in cash and checks from the Escalante Cashier’s Office, while digital equipment and its accessories were taken from the Bago City Mayor’s Office, police records show.
The police stations of Hinobaan and Cauayan are located adjacent to the municipal buildings.
