Schools street dancing today

Eleven public elementary and high schools will participate in the MassKara street and arena dance competition today that starts at 1 p.m. at the Paglaum Stadium and will end at the  Bacolod City Public Plaza. 

The participating schools are Mandalagan Elementary School, Pahanocoy Baybay Elementary School, F.F. Gonzaga Elementary School, Rizal Elementary School, J. Gonzaga Elementary School, Education and Training Center School,  and C.L. Montelibano Elementary School (elementary) and Generoso Villanueva National High School, Bacolod City National High School, Domingo Lacson National High School and Sum-ag National High School (secondary).

The grand prize winner for the elementary category is  P120,000 in cash;  first runner-up P100,000; second runner-up P75,000 and third runner-up P50,000.

A consolation prize of P10,000 in cash will be given to the non-winners.

For the high school category, the grand prize winner will receive P150,000 in cash; first runner- up P120,000; second runner-up P100,000 and third runner-up P75,000.

Winners of special awards for Best in Concept, Best in Choreography, Best Costume and Best in Mask will receive P10,000 each.

The barangay category street and area dance competition tomorrow will also start at the Paglaum Stadium at 1 p.m. and will be participated in by 20 barangays.

These are Barangay 15, Villamonte,  23, Tangub, 29, 16, 33, 5, 14, 26, 3, Handumanan, Granada, Alijis, 34, 22, 12, 27, 36, and 38.

The grand prize winner will receive P300,000 in cash; first runner-up P250,000; and second runner-up P200,000.

Best in Concept, Best in Choreography, Best in Costume and Best in Mask will receive P10,000 each.

On Sunday, the 13 barangays joining the Electric MassKara are Barangays 1, 24, 8, 37, 2, 4, 18, 40, 31, 21, 7, Montevista  and 41.*CGS
