Jocelyn Limkaichong said Saturday that she is running for congresswoman of the first district of Negros Oriental in 2016.
Limkaichong, who had been congresswoman of the district, opted to run for governor in 2013 but lost to Gov. Roel Degamo.
Asked who she would support for governor of Negros Oriental in 2016, Limkaichong said she will back whoever will bring good governance to the province.
Two years is a long way off, she said, when asked if she would support a bid by Rep. George Arnaiz for governor.
But she said Arnaiz is very qualified for the job. “Arnaiz, who had been governor of Negros Oriental, is tested and proven. Under his watch, Negros Oriental won many Galing Pook awards,” she pointed out.
She also cited Vice Governor Mark Macias, who is following in the footsteps of his father, the late Gov. Emilio Macias, in his advocacy for good health services for the people.*CPG
