SIFI holds 152nd outreach

The 152nd medical dental mission of the Sugar Industry Foundation Inc. and C-Prime Corporation was held at the Gervacio Makilan Elementary School in Barangay Canlandog, Murcia town, Negros Occidental recently, its press release said.

It also said that 297 sugar workers from nearby haciendas, small planters and their families benefited from the activity, with 238 availing of free medical consultations and medicines, 59 had dental extractions, and 200 children and some adults were fed, with the feeding materials sponsored by Loving Rose Mission, Philippines and Ontario Christian Gleaners of Canada.

Participated in the mission were C-Prime Corporation, led by Honeylen Villarosa, and staff, Canlandog Barangay Captain Celso Bellesa, kagawads, barangay health workers and nutrition scholars, Gervacio Makilan Elementary School principal Rolibert Tabligan and teaching staff, the press release also said.

Cebuanos win
festival photo tilt

It was a triple win for Cebu City in the MassKara Festival photo contest, on the theme “One Rhythm. One Bacolod. A Million Smiles”, a press release from the organizer said.

The entry of Cebuano Angelo Miguel Sanchez won first place, and a cash prize of P5,000, and those of Ivan Langit second and third places, with P3,000 and P2,000 cash prizes, the press release also said.

Organizer Kasadya Bacolod Foundation Inc. said there were 15 entries in the competition, and thanked the photographers for their participation, and the Camera Club of Negros for their help in judging the entries. The photos are available at www.onebacolod.org, the press release added.*
