Entrepreneurs Royce and Emie Dernier welcomed family and friends to their designer boutique, Dernier Cri, during its first anniversary celebration recently.

Dernier Cri is a French line-inspired fashion boutique in Bacolod City, owned by their daughter, TV5 celebrity Chanel Morales. The name is derived from the French word “The Latest Fashion”.

Guests were treated to an evening of good food and discounted rates on signature brands of bags, like Louis Vuitton, Prada, Balenciaga, and Michael Kors, as well as shoes, blouses, sunglasses, and watches.

SM Prime president Hans Sy and Supermalls president Annie Garcia led the grand opening of the expanded north wing of SM Bacolod recently.

The new SM Store is an annex building connected to the main mall, and the huge shopping complex comprises 102,042 square meters of floor area and is worth close to P1.4 billion. SM Bacolod opened March 2007, the third mall in the Visayas, along with SM City Cebu and Iloilo.

Bacolod Congressman Evelio Leonardia, then mayor when the mall opened here, said, “the mall’s presence in the city is changing its landscape, not just physically but economically”.

With the expansion, the mall is also boosting Bacolod’s stature as a city comparable to other metropolises, not just in the Philippines but also abroad.*
