DOLE releases P37M In
WV livelihood funds

Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis Baldoz, with Undersecretary Ciriaco Lagunzad Jr. and DOLE Region 6 Director Ponciano Ligutom, yesterday handed out 98 checks worth P36,605,536.08 to beneficiaries of livelihood assistance from Iloilo, Negros Occidental, Aklan, Capiz, and Guimaras.

 Baldoz was in Iloilo to attend back-to-back activities of the DOLE regional office, one of which was the re-orientation on the guidelines of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Program, or DILEEP, where she released the P36-M livelihood bonanza at the event held at the Sarabia Manor Hotel and Convention Center, Ligutom said in a government press release.

Also held was the mixed industry-wide joint assessment under the DOLE's new Labor Laws Compliance Program, he added.

RTWPB accepts
wage hike petition

The Western Visayas Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board approved Tuesday a resolution accepting a wage hike petition filed by two groups, RTWPB labor representative Wennie Sancho said yesterday.

Accepted for being sufficient in form and substance was the petition of the General Alliance of Workers Associations and the New and Independent Workers Organization, he said.

Consultations are scheduled on November 11 in Iloilo and December 1 in Bacolod City, he said.

20 city establishments
get notices of closure

About 1,309 business establishments in the Bacolod City have been inspected by a joint inspection team  led   by Winnie Pabalinas  from the Permits and Licensing Division, a  press release from City Hall said.

The Licensing Division has issued  about  20 notices of closure to establishments that have failed to renew their permits this year, the press release said.

The list was submitted to the City Legal Office for further action if  these business owners fail to comply with the  notices, Pabalinas said.
